wonderful clarity here. the textures of the cork are very well rendered and youve lit the scene well. good work.

I love this shot. Great detail work again. Also wondering how this will look if the lighting was harsh, and from the side. There would be some loss of detail... but it would be interesting to find out.

Duncan, Senthil: Thanks. This shot was actually taken by keeping the bottle on the kitchen counter, with the light coming in sideways through the window. In order to make the background dark, I propped up a black paper bag behind the bottle. Since the lighting was harsh, I blocked the light coming in directly through the window by hanging two towels in front of it, to reduce the harsh glare. Also, I used a circular polarizer to reduce some other unwanted highlights.

Technically, an excellent shot, and that's not easy to do at all. I could see this being used in a magazine article for sure.
